I love a good “Everything” bagel with cream cheese and lox, but it can be pretty expensive and sometimes seem too fussy. Mixing those flavors into a spread or dip gives the fancy flavor without breaking the bank.

Easily scale this recipe up or down depending on how many people you are serving. And if you enjoy this recipe, you’re going to love Instant Pot Salmon with Everything Bagel Seasoning, too!

Ingredients

Smoked Salmon (Lox): Use your favorite style of smoked salmon or even homemade lox. We are only using two ounces here and feel free to add more if you like.

Cream Cheese: You will need one 8 ounce block of cream cheese. I recommend using full fat rather than reduced fat for the best flavor.

Everything Bagel Seasoning: Feel free to use store-bought, or check out my recipe for homemade everything bagel seasoning.

You can also use your seasoning to make this Everything Bagel Cheese Ball or check out these 20 Ways to Use Everything Bagel Seasoning.

Dill: Fresh dill is best for the freshest flavor, but you can use dried dill in a pinch. You will need about 2 Tablespoons of chopped fresh dill or 1-2 teaspoons of dried dill.

how to make Smoked Salmon and cream cheese Spread

This spread is so easy to prepare. Simply chop the smoked salmon and dill, and mix all the ingredients together.

I like to make this the night before I want to serve it to give the flavors time to meld. Let the spread sit for about an hour to make it easier to spread. Once prepared, this smoked salmon appetizer will keep in the fridge for up to 5 days.

How to Serve Smoked Salmon Dip

This is fantastic on crackers or crostini. If you’re thinking about serving it for brunch (which I HIGHLY recommend), stop by your local bagel shop and ask them to “bread-slice” your bagels.

This cuts them vertically into several thin slices rather than one cut across the bagel. It is the best way to feed a crowd.
